HOST YOUR OWN CLASS
CCW Solutions accepts requests to schedule CCW training classes at host locations for the upcoming 2008/2009 training year. We are currently offering two disciplines for remote host training: Basic Pistol and Personal Protection, both NRA structured programs meeting the state requirement for CPL licensure in Michigan. Hosting requires minor administrative responsibilities as well as providing classroom and range facilities. In return, the host will receive complimentary slot(s) in the class being presented. Additionally, CCW Solutions will supply all the staff required to conduct the course, including all books, manuals and handouts required, CPL application packet & gun cable locks. We also include targets.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
OBJECTIVES
The purpose of CCW Solutions' concealed pistol training courses very by discipline. In all of our training programs, we strive not only to increase each student's individual firearm skills, but to instill a firm understanding of the law and when the use of lethal force is lawful. The curriculum is designed to assist students in developing, preparing, and conducting safe, effective, reality-based, personal protection strategies. Instruction will be presented and practical exercises conducted to help students in both classroom and range training. In addition, the class will enhance each student's knowledge of Michigan firearms laws and facilitate safe handling skills.
CLASS SIZES
Both open & closed enrollment CCW training classes are limited to a maximum of 24 students, which includes the complimentary tuition slots that are offered to you (closed classes only) for hosting the class, (dependant on range/classroom accommodations). A minimum number of students are required (normally eight) for a class to be conducted. Complimentary slots are based on class size and are issued as follows:
One complimentary slot for each eight students (nine total), two complimentary slots for each seventeen students (nineteen total). Range activities will be limited to no more than twelve students per session (example: thirteen students would be divided in to two days, seven students one day, six students another day).
CLOSED OR OPEN CLASS?
Hosting groups have the option of hosting a "Closed" or "Open" class. "Closed" classes are not open to the general public and the host group provides all of the students. "Open" classes are subject to student enrollment by both the host group & CCW Solutions. "Open" classes receive only 1 complimentary slot. CCW Solutions will conduct closed CPL training classes, for any number of students up to twenty four (24), the provisions of which are stated above. Additionally, "Closed" schools can normally be scheduled with much less lead-time. All remote hosted classes are subject to contractual obligations and cannot be scheduled until all provisions are met.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
These classes are intended for the general public as well as public & private law enforcement officers, police reservists, security and military personnel who desire or require a concealed carry pistol permit. Students must be of lawful age to possess and carry a pistol. We do not provide background checks or screening for CPL eligibility. CCW Solutions highly advises that you visit our "legislation" page and determine if you are eligible for a permit before enrolling in a class. Ineligibility is not a cause for refund.
SCHEDULED TRAINING DATES
Hosts will need to confirm the class dates before starting to make arrangements for the class. Our classes and our training staff are scheduled well in advance (usually two to four months). Requested class dates cannot be confirmed until all the necessary paperwork is received by CCW Solutions.
