WELCOME to CCW SOLUTIONS

In 2000 the Michigan Legislator passed Public Act 381, which went into effect in July of 2001. PA 381 establishes a more uniform and standardized method of issuing concealed pistol permits. The act provides that county concealed pistol licensing boards adopt a "Shall Issue" policy which should help to insure fairness to applicants by providing exclusive, written criteria for use in determining the approval or denial of an applicant. Previously, county gun boards were given considerable discretion to issue concealed pistol permits and the decision often depended on a demonstration of need by the applicant, which varied from county to county. Now, anyone who meets the strict qualifications of the law must receive a concealed pistol license (CPL). Today, thousands of responsible Michigan residents have been issued concealed pistol permits.

Michigan's concealed pistol carry legislation also provides for reciprocity with many other states with similar concealed carry laws. Accordingly, most of these states recognize Michigan CPL holders' rights. ANY Michigan CPL holder who plans to travel with their firearm is cautioned to verify the validity of reciprocity with the state to which you are traveling and all adjoining states traversed. Federal law establishes certain rights for the interstate transportation of firearms. Anyone traveling with a firearm of any type should be aware of what is required for legal transport, with or without a CPL. CCW SOLUTIONS has also included a web page on reciprocity for this purpose. On the reciprocity page, you will find links to many other states Attorney Generals and State Police web pages and their applicable firearm laws. Again , it is your responsibility to ensure accuracy and to verify any changes to these states statutes before your travels. CCW SOLUTIONS has also included a "LEGISLATION" web page which will present new changes in the language of the law. While we do not attempt to interpret any new wording, it is provided for you to review. Lastly, without exception train, train, train. You cannot expect to be proficient in any endeavor without practice. You should consider passing the course and receiving your concealed carry permit as the very beginning of your training.
